The non-profit organization Lawyers to the Rescue (LTR) is adapting to the ‘new normal’ by hosting its first ever virtual legal clinic via Zoom.
On Saturday, May 30th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, LTR’s pro bono attorneys will be conducting remote consultations for Camillus House members. Using the online platform Zoom, Lawyers to the Rescue and Camillus House will be coordinating a safe and effective way to serve the legal needs of Miami’s less fortunate. Dozens of lawyers and law students have signed on to provide virtual legal consultations and free legal assistance during the clinic.
“Our goal is to continue serving the legal needs of those less fortunate during this historic crisis. Our mission has always been to provide humanitarian and pro bono legal assistance to individuals and communities who need it the most,” said Spencer Aronfeld, founder of Lawyers to the Rescue. “We are extremely grateful for the efforts of our dedicated members and the Camillus House for facilitating an innovative way to serve our community during the trying time.”
Lawyer to the Rescue member, and criminal defense attorney Alex Saiz will be on site synchronizing the logistics and social distancing, with the remaining LTR team working in shifts, providing legal assistance for various areas of the law—including personal injury, landlord/tenant, employment, family, criminal, probate, and consumer protection.
